Chicago restaurant serving Arrieta's sandwich

According to owner Gus Katsafaros, Arrieta liked chef Efraim De Paz's corned beef hash, but wanted to personalize it so he came up with his own concoction. The sandwich consists of the hash plus scrambled eggs and swiss cheese on a croissant, and is served with the restaurant's house potatoes.

"Chef said, 'That's a great sandwich,'" Katsafaros said on Monday of the popular item. "So we put it on the menu."

After Arrieta threw a complete game to help the Cubs beat the Pirates in the National League Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser, Katsafaros hung a banner outside his restaurant thanking the pitcher.
