After a convincing win to open the weekend series on Friday, the Chicago Cubs (26-14) fell behind early on Saturday and couldn’t recover against the Washington Nationals (17-21). The Nats scored three runs in the top of the 1st inning against Tyler Chatwood and never looked back in a 6-4 victory at Wrigley Field, via MLB The Show 20.
Chatwood, who has been very good so far this year despite some short pitching performances, was not on top of his game. The right-hander allowed a whole lot of solid contact, giving up five hits – two of them doubles – in the opening frame alone.
