The Cubs’ attempt to sweep the Blue Jays came up short on Sunday at Rogers Centre as one bad inning and a shaky performance from the recently reliable Jameson Taillon did Chicago in. Dansby Swanson gave the Cubs a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning with a two-run double off Hyun Jin Ryu. and things looked promising. Then the wheels came off for Taillon in the bottom of the 2nd and the Jays scored five runs.
An infield hit and a hit batter put two on for Daulton Varsho, who cracked a go-ahead three-run homer to right field.
