Chicago Cubs Score and Recap (7/6/24): Angels 7, Cubs 0 – Cubs Blanked by Halos

The Cubs’ brief spurt of good play came to an end Saturday afternoon at Wrigley Field with a 7-0 defeat at the hands of the Angels. Kyle Hendricks was ineffective early before leaving with back tightness after two innings and the offense was completely baffled by veteran lefty Tyler Anderson.

Los Angeles scored on Hendricks in each of the first two innings with a bases-loaded hit by pitch and an RBI single by Keston Hiura. Colten Brewer took over for the injured Cubs starter in the 3rd and made a costly throwing error on a comebacker that could’ve been a double play.
