The Cubs offense was a complete no-show yet again Friday night against the Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Kansas City rallied for six runs with two men out in the bottom of the 5th as they went on to shut their guests out 6-0.
Starting pitchers Kyle Hendricks and Brady Singer cruised through the first four frames and the game remained scoreless. The Cubs got runners on second and third with nobody out in the top of the 5th but they were unable to score after Mike Tauchman was thrown out at the plate trying to tag on a shallow fly ball off the bat of Miguel Amaya.
