The Cubs hoped to continue their success at Wrigley Field Friday night as they returned from New York victors in the last of a four-game set. Chicago started with a big blow, but it was the Marlins who had the bigger shots in a lopsided win.
Joc Pederson hit a solo homer off of starter Cody Poteet in the 1st and Zach Davies breezed through the first couple of innings before hitting a major jam in the 3rd. After a pair of walks forced in a run, Davies gave up a grand slam to Adam Duvall.
