The atmosphere at Wrigley Field was electric Friday with a full-capacity crowd returning to the stands. The Cubs rode that energy to an epic comeback win over their bitter rivals.
The Cardinals jumped ahead on starter Kohl Stewart with run-scoring hits from Matt Carpenter and Nolan Arenado making it 2-0 after three. Joc Pederson homered off of Johan Oviedo in the 4th to cut the lead in half.
St. Louis rallied after Stewart walked the pitcher to open the 5th. Arenado singled in a pair and the lead grew to 5-1.
