Chicago Cubs Score and Recap (4/7/25): Cubs 7, Rangers 0 – Steele Outstanding as Cubs Display Speed

The Cubs were battling not only the Rangers but also the conditions at Wrigley Field Monday night with temperatures hovering around freezing. Chicago got a great effort by their starter and manufactured runs all night long to earn the victory.

Michael Busch hit a bloop double off of Texas starter Nathan Eovaldi in the 2nd inning and advanced to third on a Dansby Swanson bunt before coming home on a Miguel Amaya sacrifice fly. Jon Berti was hit by a pitch in the 3rd and proceeded to steal second and third base before beating out a throw to the plate on an Ian Happ grounder to put the North Siders on top 2-0.
