The Chicago Cubs came into today’s matchup against the White Sox looking to bounce back after getting blown out against the Angels on Monday. The Northsiders sent fan favorite Jake Arrieta to the mound in an extended inning outing.
Arrieta has pitched well this spring and that continued today. He went 5.2 solid innings, allowing only one earned run and five hits with no walks and three strikeouts. The Cubs’ bullpen gave up three earned runs and eight hits to go along with two walks and eight strikeouts.
The Cubs offense didn’t have much production with a strong wind blowing in all afternoon.
