Chicago Cubs Score and Recap (3/1/25): Cubs 7, Guardians 4 – Untied! Suzuki Leads Cubs to Victory

The Cubs took on the Guardians at Sloan Park Saturday afternoon in the first half of split-squad games. Chicago got key contributions from several regulars to build up a big lead that they hung onto late to stay undefeated in Cactus League play.

Seiya Suzuki and Carson Kelly each had RBI singles in the bottom of the 1st inning to put the Cubs ahead 2-0. Suzuki doubled the lead in the following frame with a two-run knock, and the margin ballooned to 6-0 by the 6th.

Cleveland cut into the deficit in the late innings, but Chicago ended up winning by a score of 7-4.
