The Cubs went on the road to Surprise and played the Rangers Friday afternoon. Remarkably, Chicago stormed back from a big early deficit to even the game and finish in a tie for the third consecutive game.
Justin Steele got the start and was mostly good but did allow a two-run homer to catcher Kyle Higashioka in the bottom of the 2nd to give Texas a 2-0 lead. The Cubs answered back when Gage Workman hit his own two-run shot in the 4th to tie the score.
The Rangers then exploded for six unanswered runs, including Higashioka’s second home run of the game, to build an 8-2 advantage in the 6th.
