David Ross made his long-awaited Cubs managerial debut as his good friend Jon Lester took the hill against the Rockies Tuesday. Manager David likely wishes he had taken one more sick day given the result at Sloan Park today, though he did at least get some practice giving his old battery-mate the hook.
Lester wasn’t sharp in his first outing of the spring, allowing five runs to score over one inning of work. The Rockies continued to pile on the next four frames and eventually went up 10-0 before the Cubs finally got on the board.
