The Cubs today announced that right-handed pitcher Shelby Miller has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a lower back strain. To replace Miller on the 26-man roster, the Cubs recalled left-handed pitcher Kyle Ryan from the alternate site.
The 30-year-old veteran Miller has had a rocky start to his Cubs career in 2021. He has made three appearances and has allowed seven runs on seven hits in only two innings. Miller has walked five and struck out just one batter this season.
Ryan, 29, has been in the Cubs system since the 2018 season.
