For the Chicago Cubs‘ Willson Contreras, Joe Maddon simply needs to find him a spot on the field to play. After giving his knees a rest from catching, Contreras got the start in left field. His three RBI day helped give the Cubs the 7-4 win. And don’t look now, but John Lackey is pitching well. You know, the guy everyone was ready to cast out as fast as possible?
Lackey won again, the fourth win in his past five games–and his fifth starting quality start. He’s lowered his ERA almost half a run since allowing eight runs in his June 28 outing against the Nats.
