For the first time in several seasons. the Chicago Cubs have some homegrown pitching in their ranks. For guys like Jose Albertos, Adbert Alzolay and Oscar De La Cruz among others–the pitching front looks bright. But many of these aren’t scheduled to hit Wrigley Field until 2020 or beyond. With the exception of Dillon Maples, it could be a while before we see any of them in Chicago. But could the next wave of pitchers be groomed in Chicago?
For many of these pitchers, it’s a long road.
