The Chicago Cubs‘ Jon Lester picked up his first win of the year, and he got plenty of help from the offense. Javier Baez was 4-for-4, just a double away from hitting for the cycle. And Kyle Schwarber hit a three-run shot as the Cubs’ returned the favor from last night with an 8-3 win.
When the Cubs’ Joe Maddon decided to put Kyle Schwarber in the leadoff spot, many fans were concerned. The logic made sense, though. He’s a patient hitter that can work a walk and get on base in front of the likes of Kris Bryant, Ben Zobrist and Anthony Rizzo.
