The Chicago Cubs today announced that infielder David Bote has been activated off of the 10-day injured list. In a corresponding move, infielder Andrew Romine has been designated for assignment.
Bote was placed on the IL on August 28, retroactive to August 26, with a right ankle sprain. This season, Bote has hit .202/.270/.339 with 32 RBI and 26 runs scored over 78 games. Bote is in his fourth season with the Cubs. He was drafted in the 18th round of the 2012 draft out of Neosho County Community College in Chanute, KS.
Andrew Romine has played 26 games for the Cubs this season and has hit .
