It’s May 1, and the Chicago Cubs are in sole possession of first-place. After the Pittsburgh Pirates loss, the Cubs took a turn at the top of the leaderboard. Jon Lester fell one out short of a complete start, turning it over to Luke Farrell who would get the win. Kris Bryant got his first hit since returning from his injury and scored on an Anthony Rizzo ground out to score Bryant. The Cubs suffered a bit, as Javier Baez booted two ground balls and Bryant booted one, as well.
