The Iowa Cubs outpaced Indianapolis (Pirates), 9-7.
Cory Abbott started and picked up the win with a quality start. Abbott allowed two runs on five hits over six innings. He did have some control issues as he walked five and hit one batter. Of the 108 pitches he threw, 61 were strikes. Abbott did strike out nine. At the plate, Abbott was 1 for 3 with a two-run single.
After Erich Uelmen let Indianapolis get back in the game after giving up four runs in his two innings of work, Brendon Little came on pitch the ninth.
