The Iowa Cubs were cooped up by the Toledo Mud Hens (Tigers), 8-1.
Starting pitcher Luis Lugo took the loss after allowing two runs on five hits over five innings. Both runs came on a two-run home run in the first inning by Riley Greene. Lugo walked three and did not strike anyone out.
Erich Uelmen had a rough relief appearance, giving up three runs in the sixth inning and another three runs in the seventh.
First baseman Jared Young had the first Iowa hit of the game when he hit a solo home run in the fifth inning.
