A Kyle Schwarber walkoff single kept the Cubs system from being blanked tonight.
The Iowa Cubs were swept in a doubleheader by the Reno Aces (Diamondbacks), 13-1 and 3-2.
Game one was pretty much a disaster for Iowa. Starter Felipe Paulino allowed six runs on nine hits in 3.2 innings. He struck out five and walked one.
Second baseman Arismendy Alcantara was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. He scored Iowa's only run in the bottom of the first inning on a Javier Baez sacrifice fly.
