The Iowa Cubs were soaked by the Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals), 8-6.
Duane Underwood Jr. took the loss after allowing six runs on 11 hits over the first 5.1 innings. Underwood walked one and struck out three.
Center fielder Wynton Bernard plated the first I-Cubs run in the bottom of the third with his first home run of the season. Bernard was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and the one RBI.
Later in the third inning first baseman Efren Navarro hit a two-run home run to give the I-Cubs a short-lived 3-2 lead.
