Starter Duane Underwood gave up four runs in the first inning and that was all El Paso would need. Underwood and three relievers shut El Paso down the rest of the way, but Iowa’s comeback fell short. The final line on Underwood was four runs on three hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out ten.
Third baseman Chesny Young was 2 for 4 with a two-run single in the second inning.
