The Iowa Cubs defiled the St. Paul Saints (Twins), 8-1.
Riley Thompson took a no-hitter into the seventh inning when he gave up a solo home run to DaShawn Keirsey Jr. after two were out. The final line on Thompson was one run on one hit over 6.2 innings. He walked four and struck out three.
Daniel Palencia allowed a single and a walk after two were out in the ninth. He struck out two. Those were both of St. Paul’s two hits tonight.
