The Iowa Cubs were scratched by the Sacramento River Cats (Giants), 7-6 in ten innings.
Matt Swarmer gave up three runs in the bottom of the first, but then he settled down and pitched well after that. Swarmer’s final line was four runs on seven hits over six innings. He struck out nine and walked just one.
The Cubs took a 6-5 lead in the top of the tenth on a Robel Garcia double, but Randy Rosario couldn’t hold the lead in the bottom of the inning, surrendering a two-run walk-off double to Ryan Howard.
