Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs were expelled from paradise by the St. Paul Saints (Twins), 5-4.
Starter Dan Straily came within one out of a quality start, allowing three runs on six hits over 5.2 innings. Straily struck out eight and didn’t walk anyone. That’s pretty good.
Cam Sanders relieved Straily in the sixth inning with two outs and the bases empty. He gave up a 412-foot home run to Patrick Winkel, the first batter he faced. Sanders end the inning by striking out the next batter, but the home run still earned him the loss.
