Chicago Cubs Minor League Wrap: July 29

Big wins by the Smokies, Pelicans and Emeralds. Iowa blows one late.

Felipe Paulino was masterful for six innings, allowing just one hit until he started the seventh inning and allowed hits to the first three batters of the seventh. The final line on Paulino was 6+ innings, allowing two runs on just four hits. Paulino struck out 12 and walked no one. (That's good, isn't it?)

The Sounds took the lead with a four-run bottom of the eighth inning. With two on and two out, Brian Schlitter was summoned from the bullpen and he gave up an RBI single to the first batter he faced to get the Sounds within a run.
