Chicago Cubs Minor League Wrap: July 28

Cole Hamels started this game on a rehab assignment and while he had a rough first inning, he settled down afterwards and got through the next two innings without much difficulty. The final line on Hamels was three runs on three hits over three innings. Two of those hits were home runs. Hamels walked three, struck out four and induced two double plays. He threw 59 pitches and 36 were strikes.

Danny Hultzen got the loss, but the real struggles went to Dillon Maples. Hultzen walked the second batter of the ninth inning with the score tied 9-9 and then exited for Maples.
