The Cubs acquired outfielder Gilberto Celestino from the Pirates for cash considerations. The 25-year-old from the Dominican Republic was hitting .271/.348/.356 in 67 games with Indianapolis this year. He had signed with the Pirates this past offseason as a minor-league free agent after spending the first part of his career in the Twins organization. Celestino will provide outfield depth for Iowa.
