The Iowa Cubs were rammed by the Columbus Clippers (Guardians), 6-5.
Starter Mike Hauschild pitched four innings and gave up four runs on four hits. Three of those runs came on a three-run home run in the bottom of the first. Hauschild walked one and struck out one.
The loss went to Dakota Mekkes, who pitched the seventh inning and surrendered two runs on two hits and a walk. Mekkes struck out two.
Right fielder Trayce Thompson hit a solo home run in the sixth inning, his 11th of the season.
