Rough start tonight for Matt Swarmer, who was battered for nine runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings. Four of the ninth hits were home runs, which is about par for the course in Triple-A this season. Swarmer walked four and struck out four.
Shortstop Dixon Machado hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for Iowa’s only runs. It was his 12th home run this year. Machado went 2 for 4.
Third baseman Trent Giambrone went 2 for 3 with a double.
