The Iowa Cubs lost to Indianapolis (Pirates), 13-6.
Iowa starter Kyle McGowin allowed three home runs en route to giving up seven runs on nine hits over five innings. Two of those home runs were to DH Seth Beer. McGowin walked one and struck out four.
Caleb Kilian got rocked for six runs on five hits over 1.2 innings in a rehab appearance. One of those hits was Beer’s third home run of this game. Kilian walked two, hit one and struck out one.
