Luke Farrell was terrific for five innings, allowing just one hit and no runs. Farrell struck out seven and walked three.
Duane Underwood Jr. struggled in two innings of relief. He allowed two runs on three hits, all in the eighth inning. Underwood walked one (in the ninth inning) and struck out three.
I mention this because Underwood’s last three appearances have all been in relief, presumably to prepare him for a September call-up. However, he has given up at least one run in all of them.
Kris Bryant played third base for seven innings and was 1 for 2 with two walks.
