Matt Swarmer started and surrendered three runs on eleven hits over 5.2 innings. Swarmer walked one and struck out seven.
The Redbirds tied the game in the bottom of the seventh with three unearned runs off of Randy Rosario, although Donnie Dewees throwing out a runner at the plate after a double off of Dillon Maples in the seventh kept the Redbirds from taking the lead. After Maples struck out the side in order in the eighth, Alex Wilson came on in the bottom of the ninth with the score still tied 6-6.
