Iowa got a quality start out of Adrian Sampson, who allowed just one run on five hits over 6.1 innings. Sampson struck out four and walked three, although one of those walks was intentional.
Dillon Maples struggled in his rehab appearance, giving up three runs and the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning when he allowed back-to-back home runs to Ryan McBroom and MJ Melendez.
