Iowa and Myrtle Beach have already tossed no-hitters this season and the Smokies came within one strike of a no-hitter on Opening Night. Now South Bend got into the fun.
We lead with South Bend tonight for obvious reasons.
The South Bend Cubs threw a combined nine-inning no-hitter and beat the Ft. Wayne TinCaps (Padres), 3-0.
Alexander Vizcaíno was part of a no-hitter in only his second start in the Cubs organization. He hit the first batter he faced and then retired the next six. Vizcaino struck out three.
Vizcaíno exited after two innings and Joe Nahas picked up where he left off.
