The minor league regular season ends three weeks from today. Hard to believe.
Starter Colin Rea pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing just five hits. Rea walked two and struck out six.
With the win, Rea now holds the sole lead for wins in the PCL with 12 this season. His 3.50 ERA also leads the league. Hector Noesi of the New Orleans Baby Cakes is the only other qualified pitcher with an ERA under 4.00 this season. Noesi’s ERA is 3.82.
Dakota Mekkes and James Norwood each pitched an inning to finish the shutout.
