Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs split a doubleheader with Indianapolis, losing the continuation of Friday’s suspended game 5-4 and winning the nine-inning contest 4-1.
Jordan Wicks started on Friday and gave up three runs in the second inning, but otherwise kept Indianapolis in check. Wicks’ final line was three runs on six hits over five innings. He walked two and struck out three.
The game stayed 3-0 until the seventh inning when Iowa tied it up with a three-run inning. A single by DH Owen Caissie scored one run, a wild pitch scored another and then catcher Moises Ballesteros singled home Caissie with the tying run.
