The Tennessee Smokies were dunked in cocktail sauce by the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Marlins), 6-3.
Starter Thomas Hatch pitched well, but was a victim of non-support. Hatch allowed two runs on four hits over six innings. Hatch struck out five and walked no one, although he did hit one batter.
The Smokies had no runs and just two hits over the first eight innings before staging a ninth-inning rally. Second baseman Vimael Machin was 1 for 4 with an RBI single in the ninth.
