I’ll be honest with you up front here, I’m half-assing this one because I really don’t care at all about this game. The Cubs have almost been officially eliminated from playoff contention and the Rockies might be the least interesting team in baseball. Others have worse records, but I find zero compelling about this squad with Kris Bryant on the IL.
Jameson Taillon is on the hill and the lineup is nearly the same as usual save for Patrick Wisdom getting the start at first and Christian Bethancourt catching. Taillon has allowed just one run over his last two starts, so it seems likely the offense won’t be tasked with scoring double digits tonight.
