The only thing dumber than how the Cubs are playing lately is the howling wind that cut down what would have been a go-ahead pinch-hit homer by Patrick Wisdom. Instead of being a souvenir for the ballhawks on Waveland, the ball was caught on the track, a loss of 62 feet. Seriously. That’s what the folks at Weather Applied Metrics calculated, anyway.
The Cubs and Cards will play again today, but you’ll have to forgive me for not taking the time to put together any notes on the game. I’ve got other baseball to worry about and the service out here is brutal.
