Chicago Cubs homer twice to stop the Cincinnati Reds streak at four

On a night that looked to be pitcher friendly when it started, the tide turned quickly as Miguel Montero hit a bomb into the newly opened right-field bleachers to give the Chicago Cubs and early 3-0 lead that they never relinquished en route to a 6-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

With the wind blowing in hard most of the day, the weather appeared to favor the pitchers, but that turned out to not be the case. Reds starter Michael Lorenzen (1-2, 4.01) tried to atone for the home run with a triple of his own off of Cubs starter Tsuyoshi Wada to cut it to 3-2, but one run was as close as it would ever be.
