Chicago Cubs: Heyward breaks out in win; Jake Arrieta turns 31

Entering play Monday, Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward remained hitless. But, thanks to a towering home run and a clutch, opposite-field double, his cold spell snapped in a win over the Los Angeles Angels.

Heyward drove in three, while Munenori Kawasaki plated four for Chicago. Right-hander Jake Arrieta made his first Cactus League start of the year Monday, as well. He allowed three runs over his two innings’ pitched, striking out one.

Monday was also Arrieta’s 31st birthday. Given the lack of optimism he will re-sign with the Chicago Cubs when testing free agency this winter, we looked back at the top Jake Arrieta moments to celebrate his birthday.
