At Wrigley Square in famed Millennium Park this afternoon, the Chicago Cubs ran a 30-minute wiffleball competition giving Cubs fans a chance to win regular season game tickets for hitting home runs.
Fans lined up all around Millennium Park for the chance to hit one over the fence in three pitches. According to Danny Ecker on Twitter, “about two out of every three” participants were hitting bombs over the short porch they built-in the park.
The competition was meant to generate publicity for Cubs single game tickets that go on sale this Friday.
