The Chicago Cubs sent their top prospect Eloy Jimenez to get an MRI and CT scan after he’s been dealing with a sore shoulder. In Tuesday’s game, Jimenez uncorked a throw from left field that ended up in the stands behind the third base dugout. He was reassigned to minor league camp on Friday, but Tuesday was the last action he’s seen from either side.
If the shoulder had been bothering him previously, there were no signs of it. Jimenez has a strong showing in camp. He batted .321 (9-for-28) with two home runs and four driven in.
