It wasn’t the prettiest win of the nine straight, but in the end it was a win. The Chicago Cubs made several miscues on the bases and in the field, but none of them were detrimental as they defeated the crosstown White Sox, 6-3. Jake Arrieta (14-6, 2.39) had to pitch out of some early trouble but was Cy Young like again. Jorge Soler drove in two to help lace the Cubs offense. Jose Quintana (6-10, 3.62) took the loss as the Sox will try to avoid the sweep tomorrow afternoon.
