Matt Murton has put up good numbers since coming off the disabled list. And Friday he started the three-run rally in the eighth inning that led to Iowa’s comeback win and the team’s seventh victory in a row.
Murton reached base twice Friday night. Murton walked and scored in the eighth and his single in the ninth put Munenori Kawasaki in scoring position for Arismendy Alcantara to knock in.
The I-Cubs activated Murton from the disabled list on May 19. Murton was placed on the DL for the second time with an oblique strain on May 5.
