Tyler Chatwood pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings and the bullpen barelyyyy held on to give the Cubs a 4-3 win and move to 6-2 on the season.
Chatwood struck out 11 hitters while walking just two. Offensively, Ian Happ and Kyle Schwarber homered to pace the team.
Once again the bullpen struggled, this time Kyle Ryan gave up three runs including a homer to Colin Moran, his fifth of the season.
Thoughts:
- The Cubs clinched a series win and will go for the sweep on Sunday as Jon Lester takes the hill.
- Rumor has it that the Cardinals got into Covid trouble as some team members went to the casino and that isn’t going over very well across the league with teams trying to actually do the right thing.
