Wrigley Field has long been regarded as a friendly ballpark for hitters — at least when the weather is warm and the wind is blowing out. But over the last few years, it has been a pitchers’ park.
This year, the difference has been extreme, as Wrigley Field is near the bottom of the list in ESPN’s park factors. With a park factor of 0.80, Wrigley’s run scoring environment is 20 percent worse than league average.

Park factors uses the Cubs’ home and away run scoring habits in its algorithm, and so it’s clear that the Cubs have a significant home/road split.
