Bryant dealing with wrist soreness after HBP

CHICAGO -- Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant's left wrist was sore on Wednesday after he was hit by a pitch and sustained a left wrist contusion in Tuesday night's 6-0 loss to the Pirates at Wrigley Field.

Manager Joe Maddon said Bryant's wrist wasn't as swollen as they thought it would be, but Bryant was not in the starting lineup on Wednesday.

"Just tell me what you're able to do, even if it's just to pinch-run," Maddon told Bryant on Wednesday. "It could be helpful.
